Targeted drug and gene delivery systems for lung cancer therapy.
PURPOSE To evaluate the efficacy of a novel docetaxel derivative of deslorelin, a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist, and its combination in vivo with RGD peptide conjugated nanoparticles encapsulating an antiangiogenic, anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) intraceptor (Flt23k; RGD-Flt23k-NP) in H1299 lung cancer cells and/or xenografts in athymic nude BALB/c mice. ...
متن کاملCoordination polymer particles as potential drug delivery systems.
Micro- and nanoscale coordination polymer particles can be used for encapsulating and delivering drugs. In vitro cancer cell cytotoxicity assays showed that these capsules readily release doxorubicin, which shows anticancer efficacy. The results from this work open up new avenues for metal-organic capsules to be used as potential drug delivery systems.
متن کاملTargeted Drug Delivery Systems for Lung Cancer
In the present scenario, lung cancer is one of the most prevalent and malignant cancer especially among the smoking group of people. The targeted delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to the lungs represents a novel therapeutic approach in lung cancer. Lung is an ideal route for administration of anticancer drug as it provides larger alveolar surface area, low thickness of epithelial barrier & ex...
متن کاملPluronic as nano-carier for drug delivery systems
A common approach for building a drug delivery system is to incorporate the drug within the nanocarrier that results in increased solubility, metabolic stability, and improved circulation time. However, recent developments indicate that selection of polymer nanomaterials can implement more than only inert carrier functions by being biological response modifiers. One representative of such mater...
متن کاملPolymer implants for intratumoral drug delivery and cancer therapy.
To address the need for minimally invasive treatment of unresectable tumors, intratumoral polymer implants have been developed to release a variety of chemotherapeutic agents for the locoregional therapy of cancer. These implants, also termed "polymer millirods," were designed to provide optimal drug release kinetics to improve drug delivery efficiency and antitumor efficacy when treating unres...
